And now Abbie Cornish is trying a new character on for size - smouldering cover girl - to promote her sexy new role in girl power action film Sucker Punch.

The Australian actress strips off in the new issue of Esquire magazine ahead of tomorrow night's premiere in London.

Abbie, 28, has already been dubbed 'the new Nicole Kidman,' and has just wrapped filming as the title role in Madonna's upcoming Wallis Simpson biopic W.E.

But Sucker Punch, which co-stars Emily Browning of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Vanessa Hudgens and Jena Malone, is a little more fast-paced.

Abbie has been busy promoting Sucker Punch and today arrived in London with co-stars Vanessa Hudgens and Jena Malone ahead of tomorrow night's Leicester Square premiere.

Away from the cameras, Abbie keeps busy with her never-ending list of extra-curricular hobbies. 'I’m into painting and street art and I’m a musician, I play piano,' she lists.

'And I love taking pictures or filming things documentary style. And I’m definitely active, I love surfing...'

'Vile kidnapper': Charlie Sheen threatens ex-wife Denise Richards with napalm in row over a dog

Accused: Charlie Sheen has accused ex-wife Denise Richards of stealing his two dogs (not believed to be the ones pictured under her arm in in the pet carrier yesterday)


Apart from an impromptu visit to a chat show, he's been lying low for a couple of weeks and has restrained from his daily live streaming video rant.

But clearly you can't keep Charlie Sheen quiet for too long and this time it's his ex-wife Denise Richards was on the receiving end of one of his bizarre tirades.

The fallen-from-grace actor took to his Twitter page yesterday to accuse the actress of stealing his pet dogs.

He wrote: 'We must bombard with Warlock Napalm, that traitor and loser w***e #DUH -neese POOR-ARD. A VILE KIDNAPPER AND NOW DOG THIEF. HATE.'

And he added: 'Like a Dinosaur Stampede from middle earth RAGING atop Col. Kilgore's main rotor, our assault must be EPIC. The Truth is our rocket fuel. c.'

Denise, who split from the actor in 2006 and has two daughters with him, is believed to have given Sheen the two dogs when they were separating so the animals could be with their girls when they visited him.

But the actress denied she had stolen them back and according to E! Online, she only took them away after becoming concerned for their welfare at the start of his very public meltdown.

A source close to the actress said: 'When Denise saw the dogs a couple of months ago, they were in such bad shape, one of them died after Denise took it. She has one of them, and the other one died.'

And although it is unclear what breeds the dogs were, last week, Richards took to her Twitter page to announce that their Boston Terrier Lucy had passed away.

She wrote: 'She was 12, had her since she was a pup. Been thru so much with me...we will miss her…'

Meanwhile, the source said that Sheen, who is believed to be in 'talks' with Fox about returning to Two and a Half Men, is not a 'dog lover' and Richards was just trying to 'save them'.

A few months ago it looked like Katie Holmes's new mini-series The Kennedys would never see the light of day after an early avalanche of criticism.

But after being picked up by a rival U.S. network - when the History Channel backed out of buying the show - the show finally launched last night.

A delighted Katie Holmes brought along her husband for some extra star power - and even was spotted high-fiving her co-star Greg Kinnear at the Beverly Hills event.

Perhaps the co-stars were saluting each other in celebration after the ReelzChannel picked up the U.S. broadcast rights.

The network said at the start of last month that it plans to show the mini-series between April 3 to April 10.

It came after a host of other U.S. channels declined to screen the programme.
Last night's launch also came days after the announcement that The Kennedys will air on BBC2.

The eight-parter sees Katie as the then Jackie Kennedy and Greg as John F Kennedy . Despite being ditched by the History Channel, BBC2 controller Janice Hadlow said it was 'a perfect fit' for the channel.

The History Channel's parent company A&E Television Networks said the project, did not fit the 'History brand' because of liberties taken with actual events.

The real-life Kennedy family and associates were also said to be unhappy about the Jon Cassar-directed series, claiming its scripts were inaccurate and overly critical.

Still, Katie seems happy that the finished product is finally airing, as she smooched on the red carpet with her husband.

She was wearing a simple crochetd aquamarine dress with nude sandals and an 'S' for Suri necklace dedicated to her and Tom's daughter who's five next month.

Talking about the Kennedys project after it wrapped last year to magazine Us Weekly, fashion fan Katie said:

'It's been really fun! Her clothes were magnificent. I feel so lucky. We have these wonderful seamstresses who are creating beautiful dresses that are obviously replicas of real things she wore. Armani made two dresses for me to wear.'


That's a relief: She was seen high-fiving co-star Greg Kinnear, perhaps in celebration after the show eventually got some interest from a U.S. network

Katie filmed some of her scenes as the iconic Jackie in Toronto, where she stayed with Tom and their daughter Suri as Tom shots the latest Mission Impossible movie.

Mission Impossible: The Ghost Protocol, which also stars Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner, is now in post-production ready for its Christmas release this year.

As The Wanted kicked off their first-ever UK tour in Manchester, Max George’s Corrie girlfriend was there to support him throughout the night.

Michelle Keegan raced over to the Manchester Apollo after finishing filming Coronation Street last night to watch her boyfriend’s gig.

And the couple made sure to celebrate after the successful concert by checking into the Radisson Edwardian Hotel for a romantic night.

After the band wrapped up their opening night, Max, 22, and Michelle, 23, were spotted walking hand in hand back to the hotel.

While Michelle, who plays Tina McIntyre on the soap, dressed down in skin-tight jeans and a red and white striped loose top.

He said: ‘It’s weird, I think Michelle is possibly more nervous than we are. She’s going to be there at both of our Manchester dates and I can’t wait.’

‘When I was a bit younger, I really loved the metal gigs. I remember seeing P.O.D live at the Apollo and that was incredible, although I did get a bit beat up in the moshpit.’

Katy Perry and Calvin Harris have had a very public bust up over Twitter after the Flashback star pulled out of her UK shows.

Calvin was scheduled to open for Katy’s gigs but cancelled last minute after being angered over set arrangements.

The furious I Kissed A Girl singer vented on Twitter, posting: ‘Calvin Harris will NOT be joining in on the fun and has CANCELLED last minute.’

But Calvin’s cancellation seemed to spark fury with Katy Perry fans also, who started sending abuse to the DJ.

Calvin retaliated by tweeting: ‘WTF are Katy Perry fans telling me to KILL MYSELF on twitter for? Seriously. I’m a producer making music. Leave me alone please thanks x’

The Colombian actress looked immaculate in a low-cut blue swimsuit as she lounged around sipping on the soft drink on Venice Beach.

Beckham was also looking good, wearing his hair swept back in a Mad Men-style parting.

The pair were seen laughing together between takes, while Sofia was well tended to by the production staff on location.

She teamed her swimsuit with a sarong and floppy hat.

Jennifer Lopez has dealt Cheryl Cole’s hopes of hitting the big time in the U.S. a blow after admitting she doesn’t know much about the British singer.

Miss Cole is poised to take a role on the American version of The X Factor which Simon Cowell is launching later this year, but executives are worried the star simply does not have a high enough profile.

Show insiders said that the 27-year-old Girls Aloud singer is set to take a role on the new programme in a multi-million pound deal but there has been some anguish about whether viewers will know who she is or be able to understand the Geordie star’s accent.

Miss Lopez, 41, who is a judge on rival show American Idol, has now twisted the knife by admitting she knows very little about Miss Cole and was not even sure what she did for a living.

‘Someone mentioned [Cheryl] to me yesterday,’ Miss Lopez told Fabulous magazine.

Cowell, 51, used to be a judge but quit to launch The X Factor there.

The winner of the show will receive a Sony Music recording contract worth $5million - which is far higher than the £1million deal offered on the British show.

Most athletes would stay away from eating large meals right before a race, and Paris Hilton soon regretted snacking on a burger ahead of her charity run.

The heiress munched away on a ‘Fatburger’ hamburger before taking part in a two mile charity run to raise money for earthquake and tsunami-hit Japan.

Perhaps the 30-year-old thought the extra carbohydrates would fuel her during the race, but instead she appeared to be struggling through her first mile.

Paris was joined by her sister Nicky and the girls arrived in Santa Monica at 11am to take part in the ‘Tokidoki Youth Relief/Red Cross Run’.

The Simple Life star still managed to crack a smile during the jog though, but afterwards onlookers saw her quickly grab a bottle of water and dash off to her car to sit down.

She then admitted to one of the cameramen that it wasn’t the best idea and wished she’d waited until after the race to eat the burger.

But Paris, who was dressed in black jogging bottoms and a white charity T-shirt animated with Japanese characters, did insist that ‘Fatburger’ make ‘the best burgers ever’.

So far 90,000 of the charity T-shirts have been sold to raise money for Japan’s victims.

Black Eyed Peas songstress Fergie also ran the race and looked athletic in three-quarter length jogging leggings and a matching black top animated with the Japanese characters.

The Boom Boom Pow singer was pounding the pavement alongside her husband Josh Duhamel.

The Transformers star organised the event after being affected by the devastation caused by the 9.0-magnitude earthquake on March 11.

Fergie had celebrated her 36th birthday in Las Vegas on Friday night at the Bellagio Resort and Casino.

The charity run has raised over $13,000 (£81,000) so far.

But while Victoria's friendship with Katie Holmes appears to have fallen by the wayside, husband David is still good mates with Tom Cruise.

And he greeted his friend warmly as they bumped into each other at the LA Lakers game at the Staples Centre last night.

Cruise, 48, and Beckham, 35, shook each other's hand and stood chatting by their courtside seats.

Cruise and Connor then went to take their seats just along from the Beckham boys, stopping on the way to say hi and give a kiss to Vanessa Hudgens, who was there with her actor friend Josh Hutcherson.

Also at the game were actors Jack Nicholson and his 18-year-old son Raymond, and The Mentalist star Simon Baker.

Last December, the pair started an exclusive club called the Midnight Boys Bike Club, and invited a number of Hollywood stars, including Orlando Bloom and Brad Pitt, to join them for midnight cruises through the Hollywood Hills.

The ladies were inseparable at first and were often snapped out for lunch or shopping together and even jetted off for Paris Fasion Week.

But according to reports, Victoria began distancing herself from Katie after she made it clear she didn't want to join the Scientology religion, which Katie and Tom follow.

Victoria is also believed to have disagreed with Katie over the way she was raising her daughter Suri and got concerned when the Dawson's Creek actress began copying her style.
